DEAN OF THE HEALING GROUP INSTITUTE
Kristin B. Hodson, LCSW, CSTS
Kristin (she/her) is the visionary founder of The Healing Group Institute (THGI) and The Healing Group, created to address critical gaps in healthcare related to maternal and reproductive health, sexuality, and trauma. With over 16 years of experience, she is committed to advancing inclusive mental health services and empowering healthcare providers.
As an adjunct professor at the University of Utah’s College of Social Work, Kristin developed and taught the "Human Sexuality in Clinical Practice" curriculum. She has presented at national conferences, including AASECT, and collaborated with doctors, midwives, and doulas to increase awareness of perinatal mental health and sexuality.
In 2016, she founded the Rocky Mountain Sex Summit, hosting thought leaders such as Emily Nagoski and Doug Braun-Harvey to elevate community knowledge of sexual and reproductive health. She has also led transformative workshops at the Esalen Institute.
The Healing Group provides specialized mental health services to the general public, while THGI equips healthcare providers with the tools to integrate sexuality, perinatal health, and trauma into their practice—essential elements of the human experience
DEAN OF STUDENT LIFE
April Davis
April Davis is Dean of Student Life at The Healing Group Institute, where she blends her expertise, passion, and humor to create meaningful connections within the community. With a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Utah Tech University, April brings years of experience as an educator and advocate for menstrual and sexual health. She is the founder of Haus of Vagina, a dynamic platform dedicated to empowering individuals through education and community, and the host of the Haus of Vagina Podcast. She has presented at national conferences, educating entrepreneurs about better working with their menstrual cycle.
As a retired doula and former assistant to a Certified Nurse Midwife, April draws on her extensive experience in emergency medicine and perinatal care to support individuals through life’s most transformative moments. Her work champions sexual health, menstrual cycle education, and postpartum care while also advocating for eating disorder recovery and body positivity. With a focus on empowering individuals and fostering change, April is thrilled to be your Dean of Student Life.
SEXUALITY SCHOLARS SALON
Doug Braun-Harvey, LMFT, CST, CSTS
Sexual health author, trainer and consultant Douglas Braun-Harvey bridges sexual and mental health to facilitate organizational change. In 2013 Doug Braun-Harvey and Al Killen-Harvey co-founded The Harvey Institute, an international education, training, consulting and supervision service for Improving health care through the integration of sexual health. His third book, co-authored with Michael Vigorito, “TreatingOut of Control Sexual Behavior: Rethinking Sex Addiction” was selected as the Society for Sex Therapy and Research Health Professional Book Award. His previous publications include “Sexual Health in Recovery: Professional Counselor’s Manual”(2011) and “Sexual Health in Drug and Alcohol Treatment: Group Facilitator’s Manual”(2009). In 2019 he completed 40 years of mental health work as well as private practice individual and group OCSB psychotherapy. He currently provides individual consultations and facilitates monthly sexual health in psychotherapy consultation groups.

Dr. Jordan Rullo, PhD, CST, CST-S
Dr. Jordan Rullo, PhD, ABPP is a Board-Certified Clinical Health Psychologist, Certified SexTherapist and Supervisor through the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists and Certified Gottman Therapist. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at the University of Utah, has a private practice in Salt LakeCity, Utah (www.jordanrullo.com), and teaches online sexual health courses at ://www.sexualhealthsolutions.com/. Her areas of specialty include couples and sexual health, sexual dysfunction, and sexual health related to menopause and cancer. She presents on sexual health nationally and internationally and has published over two dozen peer-reviewed articles on the topic of sexual health.
