Course Description
Psychedelic experiences can open powerful doors — but lasting healing comes not from the experience itself, but from how it is understood, processed, and integrated into everyday life. This one-hour live training offers an introductory exploration of the essential role of integration and meaning-making in supporting clients after ketamine and other psychedelic journeys, equipping clinicians with a grounded, trustworthy framework for this emerging area of clinical practice.
Through expert-led instruction and experiential learning activities, participants will explore why meaningful change occurs after a psychedelic experience, not only during it, and learn practical, accessible integration techniques for supporting clients in processing emotions, insights, and somatic experiences. The training also introduces meaning-making strategies that help clients translate images, sensations, and emotions arising from their experience into language, insight, and tangible shifts in daily life. Throughout, the presenters aim to honor both the emerging science of what happens in the brain during these experiences and the deeply human, emotional dimension of integration work.
This training is grounded in the core values of dignity and worth, the importance of human relationships, and a commitment to nondiscriminatory, equitable care — affirming that supporting clients through psychedelic integration requires both clinical grounding and a deeply attuned, compassionate presence.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:
Describe the role of integration in psychedelic-assisted work and explain why meaningful change occurs after the experience, not only during it.
Demonstrate practical, accessible integration techniques to support clients in processing emotions, insights, and somatic experiences.
Apply meaning-making strategies to help clients translate experiences, including images, sensations, and emotions, into language, insight, and real-life shifts.
Limitations, Risks, & Benefits
This online training presents a foundational overview of the subject matter and is not intended to be comprehensive; clinicians are encouraged to seek out supplemental resources and peer-reviewed literature. The virtual format may not fully replicate the interactivity of in-person learning. Some content presented is based on emerging research that has not yet reached full consensus in the peer-reviewed scientific literature, and the evidence base may have limitations in generalizability across diverse populations, cultures, or practice settings; differing perspectives and their sources will be presented where contradictory evidence exists. Content reflects information available at the time of development, and practitioners are encouraged to stay current with evolving research and regulatory standards. Benefits include increased understanding of psychedelic integration and its clinical application, practical skills that build upon existing clinical training, and enhanced ability to provide compassionate, inclusive care when supporting clients through this emerging area of practice.
